Overview

This full‑time apprenticeship offers administrative experience in a supportive environment. Working on this highly collaborative team will contribute to the implementation of a comprehensive K‑12 performing arts curriculum. The role provides foundational administrative support to the team, delivering essential functions ranging from logistics to finance.

Compensation

The salary is $18.50 per hour or a contracted amount of $29,600 for the school year.

Key Outcomes for the K‑12 Programs Apprentice
  • Gaining knowledge and experience working across multiple systems in supporting the business practices of the department and the institution.
  • Developing expertise in applications needed to support the work, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Airtable, etc.
  • Insight and experience in working collaboratively with artists, educators, and administrators from within Juilliard and with our collaborators around the world.

About the Professional Apprentice Program:
This program provides immersive training for emerging performing arts technicians and administrators, addressing the need for practical training in the field. For over four decades, it has prepared recent graduates, early‑career professionals, and individuals undergoing career transitions for employment in the cultural sector. This is achieved through hands‑on experience, professional development, and networking and mentorship opportunities.

Role Responsibilities
  • Assist in the production of team meetings, events, and workshops.
  • Attend all regular admin team and weekly team meetings, as well as project‑specific meetings as needed and take meeting minutes.
  • Regularly update information in the K‑12 Database and other project or departmental spreadsheets.
  • Assist in financial processes relating to expense processing and tracking.
  • Assist in travel planning for team members, including preparation of itineraries.
  • Organize business development contacts and help manage related workflows.
  • Contribute to the organization of office space, file storage, and materials for workshops.
  • Oversee K‑12 general email inbox.
Minimum Requirements
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and an openness to learning new technical skills as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills, comprehensive follow‑through, and effective time management.
  • The capacity to follow systems and processes, along with an innate understanding of effective prioritization.
  • Attention to detail and an ability to find creative solutions to complex issues.
