About Us

Brain Power Wellness is a vibrant, mission-driven organization dedicated to implementing social-emotional wellness services in New York City public schools. Our Forest Hills headquarters in Queens is a hub of activity where we host impactful events and trainings for up to 80 adults and/or students daily. We are looking for a reliable, motivated, active and organized office assistant to join our team in a support role and help our daily operations run smoothly.

The Role

Working alongside our Operations and Services staff, the Office Operations & Facilities Assistant provides essential support in maintaining our event space and managing logistics. This is a "hands‑on" role ideal if you enjoy being physically active, value a tidy environment, enjoy supporting in an office environment being in a support role for a great cause and work close to home.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • Event Logistics: Prepare event space, set up and break down tables and chairs for workshops; assist with food delivery setup and cleanup for guest meals.
  • Facilities Upkeep: Ensure a clean and welcoming environment by vacuuming, sweeping, emptying trash/recycling, and restocking restrooms.
  • Kitchen Support: Wash and dry containers and utensils used during events.
  • Inventory & Shipping: Track supplies via simple spreadsheets, organize boxes of materials for shipment to partner schools, prepare materials for trainings and events.
  • General Office Support: Remain productive during quiet times and maintain a helpful, positive demeanor with visitors and staff. Making copies and running errands etc.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to lift and move up to 55 lbs (25 kg) and perform repetitive movements including bending and lifting.
  • Tech

    Skills:

    Basic computer skills (email, simple spreadsheets eg tracking inventory)
  • Schedule: Flexibility is key. Some event days require a 7:30 AM start
    , with most shifts concluding by 2:00 PM
    .
  • Personality: A friendly, proactive, and "no task is too small" mindset.
  • PAY: $20.00 per hour
  • JOB TYPE: Part‑time / Per Diem (12–24 hours per week). Work less hours over the Summer.
