Location: New York

Position Overview

Administrative Assistant for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County supporting the Fort Drum Information and Referral Program and Army Emergency Relief Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer telephones and assist or direct calls to the appropriate person.
  • Maintain administrative files and statistical data for the Army Emergency Relief and Information and Referral Program; generate reports as needed.
  • Register program participants; greet and direct visitors.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and classes; record meeting minutes and provide meeting materials.
  • Enter data in computer programs and online forms.
  • Provide support to educators and managers (filing, copying, formatting correspondence, printing newsletters, etc.).
  • Assist the Financial Readiness Manager with dissemination of financial information, emergency assistance, and reservist mobilization activities.
  • Maintain professional relationships with agencies, businesses, and the public; maintain volunteer hours and submit reports.
  • Collect evaluation data and support assessment of Soldier and family needs.
  • Collaborate in professional development activities; support association priorities.
  • Maintain an inclusive and respectful environment for clients, staff, volunteers, and the public.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience for the role.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License; ability to meet travel requirements.
  • Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledge of Information and Referral guidelines, Army Emergency Relief guidelines, community and human service resources, and employment services.
  • Demonstrated ability to use program resources, assess fiscal need, work independently, interact with diverse populations, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with telephone systems and standard computer programs.
Compensation and Benefits

Full‑time, non‑exempt, 40 hours per week. Hourly rate: $19.00. Comprehensive benefits package includes health and dental insurance, retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave.
