Computer Operator – Brooklyn, NY (Contract/W-2). Job # 26907. Duration: 2 years. Shift: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday. Pay: $19–$23 per hour BOE (alternative range $22–$32 per hour).
About the RoleDatrose seeks a detail‑oriented Computer Operator / Data Processing Specialist to support daily electronic data processing, document production, and system monitoring. The role requires strong organization, comfort working with computer systems, and skill in proofreading and document accuracy.
Responsibilities- Monitor and control electronic computer systems and peripheral equipment to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions.
- Follow written and verbal instructions to produce final copy materials using word processing and computer equipment.
- Proofread, edit, and correct documents for accuracy, clarity, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to prepare documents, spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and related materials.
- Assist in the development of web pages, templates, and formatted materials as needed.
- Maintain accuracy and organization of digital files and data.
- Identify and report system issues or irregularities.
- Perform general administrative and data‑related tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in computer operations or office technology preferred.
- Strong knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software within a reasonable timeframe.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in proofreading and document preparation.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Experience with data processing, computer operations, or administrative support.
- Familiarity with charts, spreadsheets, and basic web page development.
- Prior experience in a fast‑paced office or technical environment.
