GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
As the Associate for Administration, you will be central to the functioning of a curatorial department that is especially broad in scope, providing critical support to MCRW's Curator in Charge and Senior Administrator. You will interface with all members of the department, visitors, and members of the various communities engaged with MCRW’s initiatives and work closely with the Senior Administrator to ensure efficient operation of the office, coordinate outreach efforts, and provide support of the curatorial program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Assists with organizing Curator in Charge’s complex schedule, including meeting arrangement, calendar updates and work-related travel planning
Provides front line reception and is a liaison between MCRW staff, museum colleagues, researchers and the public
Ensures front administrative office space is well organized and operational, including troubleshooting and fielding repair and maintenance requests across the department
Assists Senior Administrator with office reorganization and setup through seasonal transitions of research fellows, interns, and volunteers
Supports department’s curatorial, research and collections staff by performing daily administrative office tasks, coordinating visits to the office, archive and collections, and in coordination with the Senior administrator aids with travel, human resource, procurement and financial processes
Provides data entry support for curatorial acquisitions reports
Coordinates a schedule of donor events for the department including the Friends of MCRW, and other additional programming planned throughout the year Manages the correspondence, including drafting and editing, recruitment, inquiries, and renewals for Friends of MCRWCoordinates departmental communications and outreach, MCRW web page updates, correspondence, and maintains Department contact lists
Assists with planning of annual Visiting Committee Meetings (Department’s highest-level patrons and advisors)
Other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
B.A. in Business, Arts Administration, Art History or other related fields1-2 years of administrative or related experience, required
Computer proficiency:
Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook, required
Familiarity with the MCRW Collection-desirable
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills, required
Experience in development/fundraising, managing donor/patron groups, and running special events, preferredCOMPENSATION RANGE:
