OVERVIEW
The
D.
E. Shaw group seeks a highly organized, resourceful, proactive individual to provide exceptional administrative and operational support to senior executives at the firm. This individual will play a key role in keeping business initiatives organized and on track by anticipating needs, managing priorities, and maintaining a high degree of professionalism and judgment. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with leaders across the firm in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous, and collaborative environment.
A high performer in this role may have the opportunity to be considered for full-time employment at the firm.
- Manage complex schedules, coordinate and execute detail-sensitive meetings, plan intricate travel itineraries, liaise with internal business units and external parties, and offer support for key projects.
- Work closely with the EA team’s leadership and EA managers, learning principal preferences and team dynamics before taking on coverage assignments as they arise.
- At least seven years of relevant experience is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- We welcome applicants from a wide range of professional backgrounds; no prior finance experience is required. Experience in client services or other customer-focused roles is a meaningful plus.
- Proven ability to learn and utilize productivity software, including Slack, Confluence, SharePoint, and adopting Generative AI into workflows; proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook) is preferred.
- Keen attention to detail, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- The ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion is a must.
- Executive assistants at our firm are accustomed to taking ownership of their work product and excel at working independently and as part of a team.
The expected annual base salary for this position is $125,000 to $145,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes overtime for all hours worked over 40 per week and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
