Position Summary

Coordinates day-to-day employee/retiree benefit plan administration, organizes annual health fairs, assists with open enrollment and coordinates health and wellness and retirement programs. Processes Children Tuition Scholarship applications.

This is a term position anticipated to be needed through Fall 2028 but may be ended or extended based on organizational needs, funding availability, and performance.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assists with new hire benefit enrollments, retiree health plan enrollments and follows-up with new employees to ensures timely enrollment.
  • Processes and audits benefit enrollment elections and corrects enrollment errors as needed.
  • Assists employees/retirees with benefits questions and issues including during open enrollment. Escalates issues appropriately and ensures proper resolution.
  • Assists with the evaluation, development, implementation and communication of current, new and emerging employee/retiree benefit programs.
  • Generates periodic and ad hoc reports to audit and to ensure data integrity.
  • Coordinates the administration of various benefit programs.
  • Processes claims and reimbursements.
  • Facilitates communication with outside vendors.
  • Responsible for data entry and maintenance.
  • Assists the planning and coordination of special events.
  • Generates reports for funding, invoice reconciliation of benefit programs, vendor/carrier and upper management requests.
  • Prepares payment requests and back up data for Vendors.
Education
  • High School Diploma
Experience

Approximately 3 years of prior related experience

  • Must possess outstanding customer service skills with a compassionate, courteous, and helpful phone manner; ability to deal professionally with a diverse constituency - patients, faculty, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Patience and a high capacity for empathy and perseverance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize work.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain focused despite frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to treat confidential information with utmost discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative manner with all departmental faculty and staff, as well as other institutional representatives.
