Administrative Aide II, Development

University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support through gifts and pledges to the University for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure.
Perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including confidential tasks. Prioritize office activities, delegate work, and act as work leader to junior clerical support staff. Respond to inquiries with comprehensive knowledge of department activities, policies, and programs, interact with general public as NYU liaison, and resolve issues with senior university personnel.
Customize and/or compose letters independently or in response to requests. Perform advanced word processing duties and modify/create databases and complex spreadsheets. Monitor complex department budgets and/or grants.
Eligible for hybrid work arrangement.
ResponsibilitiesRequired
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience: 3 years of office experience, including providing a high level of customer service.
Preferred Experience: 2 years of office experience with an Associate's degree; 1 year of office experience with a Bachelor's degree.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications; moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding; good proofreading and writing skills.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office or Apple applications; knowledge of desktop publishing software; knowledge of Access.
QualificationsHourly rate: USD $39.13 (based on bargaining unit contracts; excludes incentives, bonuses, and other items).
