The Whitney Museumis seeking to hire a part-time, temporary Collections Assistant to work on a variety of tasks supporting the collections team within the Curatorial Department. The incumbent will work three days per week, reporting to the Curator of the Collection. Tasks will include TMS data entry, drafting of correspondence related to gift offers, artist research, drafting of PowerPoint presentations, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
The position will begin on August 3, 2026 and terminate on December 18, 2026.
- Assist in the smooth administrative functioning of the collections team
- TMS data entry related to incoming gifts and other acquisitions
- Assist with research and internal communications related to gift offers
- Daily administrative support (drafting correspondence, preparation of presentations, processing invoices, and other general office and clerical duties).
- Coordinate information among various museum departments, including but not limited to Curatorial, Advancement and Research Resources
- B.A. and 1-2 years’ professional experience in a museum or gallery setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in 20th- and 21st-century American art
- Excellent writing, research, and communication skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to handle several projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Ability to work well as a member of a team
- Administrative and organizational skills, including experience with TMS, Microsoft Office and Teams
- Pay rate of $31 - $35 per hour
