Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Data Entry Clerk to provide administrative and purchasing support in Wassaic, NY. This part‑time contract position will assist with processing purchase requests, maintaining accurate records, performing data entry tasks, and coordinating communication between vendors and internal staff. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Print, review, code, and log incoming purchase requests.
  • Accurately enter and maintain purchase request information and tracking records.
  • Process purchase requests for approved vendors, including Grainger and Staples.
  • Search internal state databases to identify items available through existing state contracts.
  • Maintain organized filing systems and ensure documentation is properly stored.
  • Communicate professionally with vendors and internal staff regarding purchase requests, documentation, and status updates.
  • Assist with general clerical and administrative support tasks as needed.
  • Review records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in data entry, clerical support, administrative assistance, purchasing, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering and reviewing information.
  • Ability to organize files, maintain records, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including:
    • Microsoft Excel – data entry, spreadsheets, and basic formatting
    • Microsoft Word – creating and editing documents
    • Microsoft Outlook – email correspondence and scheduling
  • Ability to work independently while supporting team objectives.
