Description

Tele Solv Consulting is seeking a detail‑oriented General Clerk to support government operations and high‑volume documentation workflows in our Long Island City office.

This role will support the federal government and all applicants must be local to the Long Island City, NY area.

The General Clerk provides essential administrative support to a Government field office, helping ensure efficient file management, accurate document handling, and smooth naturalization‑related operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Retrieve and bundle Government requested files for personnel.
  • Reshelve files and maintain accurate file organization.
  • Connect incoming correspondence to existing shelved files.
  • Support the preparation and execution of naturalization ceremonies, including printing and distributing certificates.
  • Assist during ceremonies by escorting applicants and collecting and logging identification documents.
  • Provide support for forms and application processing related to adjudication.
  • Scan large, multi page documents.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust / Suitability Clearance through the Government.
  • Ability to lift and carry 45 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and reach in a physical work environment.
  • Strong proficiency in reading and understanding English.
  • Ability to work independently with consistent attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with document handling, organization, and scanning.
  • Capacity to navigate physical file storage environments efficiently.
  • Prior experience in clerical, filing, records management, or administrative support roles.
  • Experience supporting Government operations or high volume documentation environments.
Background Investigation

As part of this process, the government will perform a criminal, credit, tax, employment, and drug history background check. The government has varying tolerances, with mitigating circumstances, for issues in all of the categories. The government is essentially looking to confirm that you are generally in good financial standing, up to date on your tax filings, rehire eligible with your prior employers, and have adhered to any federal restrictions on illegal drug use, including marijuana, in addition to other checks related on your character and trust worthiness.
