Billing Assistant

Location: New York

EMSL is seeking a Billing Assistant in Long Island City, NY. This person will process billing orders for our products division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the lab with daily billing and be responsible for monthly closing

Receive environmental samples from clients and shipping carriers

Generate final reports for screening/approval

Invoicing reports, processing media purchases, charging credit cards, returns, and/or credit memos

Assisting with incoming calls/emails regarding invoice questions

Contacting clients via phone and email as needed

Will be required to order supplies weekly and maintain inventory (lab coats etc.)Scan audit; ensuring proper disposal of documents by scanning and shredding

Work on any other administrative or housekeeping related projects as needed to meet business demands

Assist with sample login

Requirements:

High School Degree or equivalent

Some college course work completed a plus

Must have 1 to 3 years' experience in billing

Proficient in MS Office Able to type 55 words per minute

Ability to prioritize work assignments

Attention to detail and problem solving skills required

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to multi- task Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment

Shift: Position is full time, Tuesday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.;
Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30p.m.Training Schedule to start will be Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Long Island City, NY are encouraged to applyEMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay, flexible spending account.
