Location: New York
School Receptionist (Brooklyn) – Gersh Autism Academy
Gersh Autism Academy provides personalized education and therapeutic services for students aged 5–21 across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Full‑time receptionist position located at the Downtown Brooklyn campus. As the first point of contact for students, families, and visitors, the receptionist creates a welcoming and professional environment.
Responsibilities- Greets and directs/escorts all visitors; anticipate heavy traffic during summer months.
- Answers multi‑line telephone and directs all incoming calls to the appropriate party promptly, efficiently and pleasantly.
- Handles basic clerical tasks such as filing, typing, photocopying, making labels, mailings (sorting, stamping mail accordingly), and maintaining the mail machine.
- Produces and distributes correspondence: memos, letters, faxes, and forms.
- Provides front‑line support for all Gersh Organization programs and services.
- Manages the company’s general voicemail box; proactively maintains and updates the phone list.
- Makes deliveries to the US Post Office, Fed Ex and/or UPS when needed.
- Creates flyers using MS Publisher and MS Word.
- Acts as liaison with the facilities department on maintenance requests.
- Facilitates conference room booking and scheduling.
- Supports event preparation, including creation of nametags and mailing campaigns.
- High School diploma required; BA/BS preferred.
- Administrative and/or customer‑facing experience required (prior experience in a school or academic setting is a plus).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Publisher, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Proficiency in MS Outlook and strong calendar‑management skills.
- Exceedingly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with a sense of immediacy.
- Professional and friendly demeanor.
- Flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient under pressure.
- Team player.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Downtown Brooklyn. - Hours:
Monday – Friday,8:00AM – 4:00PM; occasional before‑ and after‑school hours as needed. - High‑volume, high‑traffic office environment.
