** The base pay scale for this position is $84,000.00 - $. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.

** The Manager, Leave Administration is a member of the employee relations team, which encourages and contributes to creating a positive work environment for employees and leaders. The person in this role manages the relationship between HSS and our third-party Leave Management administrator, providing oversight of the services they provide, including auditing the administrator’s volume, process, and communications and serving as the escalation point for leave issues.

This person is ‘the face’ of leaves for HSS employees, guiding and advising as appropriate. This role also oversees the Reasonable Accommodation process for HSS, including leading and facilitating interactive dialog with employees and managers. This role supervises a Leave Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

Leaves of Absence:  
• Serve as subject matter expert for time and pay processes related to both continuous and intermittent leaves, assessing current practices, and partnering with internal teams, as needed  
• Ensure accurate time entry and pay for employees on leave of absence, coordinating with external payers, as needed  
• Oversee and implement ‘Donated Sick Time’ practices for eligible employees  
• Guide, educate, and advise managers and employees on leave of absence policies and processes, ensuring they are provided and directed to the appropriate resources  
• Act as the primary point-of-contact with the outsourced Leave Management administrator, ensuring their process is compliant and efficient and that leaves are processed and communicated in a timely manner  
• Oversee third-party Leave Administrator performance, periodically auditing volume, employee statistics, and practices to assess and ensure quality  
• Proactively identify and troubleshoot leave issues or concerns, presenting possible solutions  
• Ensure all systems (i.e., Third-Party Administrator’s, HR Acuity, Workday, Dimensions) are equipped to accurately transfer data between one another; act as primary conduit for Leave-related technology and systems    
• Draft communications that align with HSS messaging, and ensure the outsourced administrator is employing them consistently  
• Inform third-party administrator and internal staff of HSS policy or practice changes, ensuring leaves are managed in accordance with the most current requirements
