Safety Administrative Assistant
Welsbach Electric is looking for a Safety Administrative Assistant. Safety in the workplace is of paramount importance, and the role of a Safety Administrator is crucial in ensuring that all safety standards and protocols are adhered to. The ideal safety Admin Assistant provides crucial administrative support to our organization's safety and security programs by managing safety documentation, coordinating training, tracking compliance, assisting with incident reporting, and performing general administrative tasks to help maintain a safe workplace environment.
Candidate will work with General Superintendent to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations. He or she must be reliable, punctual, organized, and have demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities in a very busy office.
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Act as a point of contact for safety-related issues and concerns.
- Maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and OSHA logs.
- Prepare and submit reports on safety activities and compliance status.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety.
- Create summary sheets of each week's Daily Job Safety Reports.
- Coordinate and conduct safety training programs for employees.
- Process and distribute necessary reports internally and externally.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Help develop and update safety policies and procedures.
- Support Safety Professionals and Project Managers managing Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) reports.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information.
- Assist with planning Safety Department events.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years relevant experience, preferably in construction
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's Degree or currently pursuing preferred.
- Working knowledge of the construction industry and safety practices a plus.
- DOT, OSHA and MSHA experience a plus

- Business writing and reporting skills
- Excellent organization, communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Scheduling and time management skills
- Strategic, analytical, and multi-tasking skills
- Understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards
- Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel).
