Position Description
The DNA Learning Center NYC (DNALC) is currently seeking a full‑time Program Administrator to work in a busy environment at its Brooklyn campus. The DNALC is the world’s first science center devoted entirely to genetics education, and is a destination for school field trips, summer camps and programs for the general public.
Position Responsibilities- Customer service duties, including answering phone calls and emails, and meeting and greeting visitors
- Maintaining and purchasing office supplies
- Assisting with mailings, marketing, proofreading, and editing
- Booking school reservations, invoicing, and visitation reports
- Answering summer camp reservation questions, approving camp applications, tracking camp attendance, and preparing camp documents (sign‑in sheets, name tags, certificates, etc)
- Maintenance of financial records for income, payments, and budgets
- Data collection and entry
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, data tracking, and reporting; proficiency in Word and Outlook; and a minimum of three years of customer service or office experience. The candidate must feel comfortable working in a lively environment with lots of social interaction. Strong organizational, time‑management, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and multi‑task, are required.
Interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills are also required.
