Sapphire Center for Rehabilitation is looking for a Business Office Assistant to join their business office. This position is responsible for meeting residents to get authorization forms signed and assisting the back office in collecting private and NAMI balances. In addition, this employee will perform general office activities for the facility as assigned by the Office Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Meet with residents and/or responsible parties upon admission.
  • Discuss insurance information with residents and/or responsible parties.
  • Discuss payment plan of copays, private pay, or NAMI based on income information collected during meetings.
  • Obtain signed forms to apply for Medicaid, enroll into direct deposit, payment arrangements, and pension change of addresses.
  • Preparing and submitting Medicaid applications while working with patients & their families to collect required paperwork
  • Reviewing Medicaid Pending cases with the Department of Social Services and/or NHED caseworkers
  • Reporting & escalating potential problem cases
  • Following up on requests by NHED for recertifications and financial changes
  • Explaining bills to residents as necessary and maintaining appropriate backup records
  • Preparing and submitting Rep Payee forms to SSA
  • Filling and mailing out Representative Payee reports
  • Verify patients’ eligibility for Medicaid.
  • Process Medicaid applications, meet with families and collect required paperwork.
  • Maintain necessary billing and financial information on resident files.
  • Maintain resident trust accounts and reconcile balances monthly.
  • Perform and coordinate all collection efforts with the nursing home Administrator.
  • Maintain accurate records of payor sources, addresses, telephone numbers, etc.; explain bills to residents as necessary and maintain appropriate back-up records.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information.
  • Maintain effective communication with residents, families, facility staff and business office staff members.
  • General office duties as assigned.
