The Student Success Center at SUNY Niagara seeks a graduate intern eager to gain hands‑on experience in academic advising and registration. The intern will work closely with a team of Student Success Coaches, the Career & Transfer Coordinator, and the Registration Coordinator, gaining exposure to a broad range of student support services in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Typical Work Activities- Receive one‑on‑one training regarding advisement and registration functions
- Gain exposure to a wide range of student populations (new, transfer, readmit, and continuing)
- Participate in SSC events such as registration sessions, Welcome Week tabling, career fairs, open houses, orientation, and other semester‑dependent activities
- Support students by connecting them with other campus offices
- Familiarize with software such as Banner Web and Degree Works
- Conduct outreach to registration‑ready students
- Additional opportunities may arise based on the student’s background, interests, and skills
- Must be enrolled in a graduate program in student personnel administration or higher education/student affairs administration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite preferred
