Description

Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Development Officer (VP/CDO), the Temporary Administrative Manager provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Vice President and the Development team. This role is responsible for managing executive scheduling, departmental administration, budget tracking, meeting coordination, office processes, and board support activities. The Administrative Manager serves as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and ensures the efficient operation of the Development office during the temporary assignment.

The Development Office advances The Juilliard School’s mission by securing philanthropic support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and other partners. Working closely with institutional leadership, trustees, alumni, donors, and friends of the school, the office develops and manages fundraising initiatives, donor engagement programs, stewardship activities, special events, and campaign efforts that help sustain and expand Juilliard’s world-class programs in music, dance, and drama.

The Development team serves as a strategic partner across the institution, fostering relationships and supporting investments that enhance student opportunities, artistic excellence, and the school's long-term priorities.

Role Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the calendar of the Vice President and Chief Development Officer, including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and prioritizing requests.
  • Assist the VP/CDO with the management of their donor portfolio by tracking actions, correspondence, and updating contact information.
  • Ensure the VP/CDO is fully prepared for meetings by gathering background materials, organizing briefing documents, and facilitating pre-meeting preparation.
  • Prepare, draft, proofread, and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, briefing materials, and other documents.
  • Assist with the administration of the Development department budget and process expense reports, invoices, and reimbursements on behalf of the VP/CDO.
  • Serve as a primary administrative contact for the Development office, interacting professionally with trustees, donors, senior leadership, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external partners.
  • Schedule recurring department meetings, prepare agendas, coordinate logistics, and maintain shared Development calendars.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the effective functioning of the department and Office of the VP/CDO.
