A leading fashion organization is seeking a Fabric Development Coordinator to support the Research & Development, Design, and Merchandising teams throughout the seasonal development of fabrics. This role will collaborate with cross-functional partners, overseas offices, sourcing teams, and fabric suppliers to help manage the development process and ensure seasonal fabric initiatives are organized and executed efficiently.
The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of textiles, excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support the fabric development team with documents, data, and materials needed for daily meetings and communication with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, fabric suppliers, and overseas offices.
- Conduct trend and market research to support seasonal and ongoing fabric development needs.
- Organize and maintain seasonal fabric concept packages and related materials.
- Coordinate fabric meetings, bookings, and schedules for the team.
- Manage seasonal Fabric Standard Setting (FSS) processes, including uploading and organizing documentation in Google platforms for cross-functional partners.
- Support the creation and maintenance of core and seasonal fabric information and complete fabric records by classification.
- Maintain the fabric library and develop organized seasonal fabric archives.
- Create and maintain seasonal fabric charts and information within the PLM system, ensuring details are accurate and communicated to relevant teams.
- Support the preparation and presentation of seasonal fabric direction to Design and Merchandising teams.
- Communicate consistently and effectively with internal teams, overseas offices, suppliers, and other key partners.
- Help ensure fabric information, documentation, and seasonal materials are organized, accurate, and accessible.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 0–2 years of experience in the fashion industry; textile or fabric experience preferred.
- Foundational knowledge of fabrics and textiles.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative, proactive, and team-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with PLM systems and Google Workspace is a plus.
