DESCRIPTION
One of the more prolific Broadway lead-producing offices is seeking an Executive Assistant/Office Manager to support its upcoming slate of productions and developmental activities. In recent years, Broadway productions have included:
Maybe Happy Ending, Glengarry Glen Ross, Our Town, Purlie Victorious, etc.
Working closely with the producers, the Executive Assistant/Office Manager will be responsible for answering phones, managing the lead producer’s calendar, booking travel, assisting with readings and developmental workshops (organizing venues, travel, invites); corresponding with investors and production staff; communicating daily with general management and company management; generating pitch materials including letters and decks; participating in advertising/publicity meetings to create a cohesive marketing strategy;
leading special research projects (e.g., production study guides); and miscellaneous administrative support, including but not limited to ordering office supplies, handling opening night gifts, etc.
This position requires a high level of organization and tenacity as we have several projects in the works with workshops and productions lined up in the coming months. It is a good position for someone who can confidently jump from task to task and enjoys working on multiple productions simultaneously.
This position is full-time in-person 10am - 6pm at the office (close to Columbus Circle ABCD/1 and 57 th st NQRW) and occasionally requires working evening and weekends for opening nights, closing performances, and readings.
QUALIFICATIONS- 1-3 years professional/administrative experience in the theatre industry
- Familiarity with current theatre environment & players (including NY commercial and major not-for-profit arenas)
- Understanding of theatre marketing and advertising
- Knowledge of theatre history & criticism
- Critical thinking & creative problem solving, ability to work independently
- Excellent phone skills
- Affinity for finances and budgeting
- Basic/intermediate graphic design skills and proficiency in Mac, MS Office, and Word Press
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Salary: $52,000/yr
