POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive individual to join USCIB’s ATA Carnet team as a Carnet Associate. In this role, you will provide operational support for USCIB’s ATA Carnet issuance and claims administration functions. Responsibilities include processing customs documentation, preparing claims correspondence, maintaining accurate records, supporting carnet issuance activities, and assisting with various departmental processes and reconciliations. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in international trade documentation and the ATA Carnet system while gaining exposure to claims administration, customer service, and carnet issuance operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Distribute and manage correspondence received through the Foreign National Guaranteeing Associations (FNGA) mailbox.
  • Process incoming documentation received from U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) ports and other stakeholders.
  • Scan, distribute, and match Carnet vouchers and customs documentation received from CBP.
  • Prepare various Carnet claim letters and supporting documentation for review by Carnet managers.
  • Assist ATA Carnet Issuing Representatives with application processing, document preparation, data entry, record maintenance, and other activities related to the timely issuance of ATA Carnets.
  • Support Carnet issuance, claims administration, reconciliations, and other ATA Carnet program functions as needed to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical records of Carnet transactions, claims files, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with special projects, reporting requirements, and operational initiatives within the ATA Carnet Department.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;
    Associate’s degree plus relevant experience or two years of equivalent professional experience in supply chains or logistics will be considered.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including basic mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with data analysis, automation tools, or Python is a plus.
