Position Title:
Non-profit Operations Assistant
Status: Temporary 3 months, October - December
Location: New York City, New York, Zip 10023 – On-site
Hours: 20 hours per week, scheduled Monday–Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Pay: $31/hr
Job SummarySeeking a highly organized, detail-oriented team player to serve as a temporary, part-time Operations Assistant. This employee will have nonprofit experience and provide vital assistance to the Finance and Development Department during the critical year-end fundraising season. Accounting is a plus but not necessary.
Responsibilities Development and FundraisingProcess all donations, including paper checks and online donations.
Generate acknowledgment letters for the Executive Director’s review and signature.
Assist in managing donor database (Donor Perfect), including pulling lists, running reports, and cleaning up data.
Respond to donor inquiries and other basic donor correspondence
Quick Books entries
Bank deposits
Office management duties, such as maintaining office supplies, etc.
Scheduling meetings for the Executive Director and other senior staff
Supporting Board meetings, including scheduling, set-up, etc.
Other tasks as assigned. This position requires flexibility and adaptability to support the senior staff team and Board as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of Net Suite preferred.
Ability to learn new systems and programs.
Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, organizational, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent typing and data entry skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
Must be detail-oriented and able to work in a team, independently, and under pressure.
Exceptional time-management skills.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years’ work experience in an office environment, preferably in NYC.
Experience in a Non-profit space.
Experience with fundraising and finance software, databases, and platforms is highly preferred.
Quick learner, flexible, adaptable, proactive self-starter.
