About Us

BBC Studios’ Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) business brings premium content directly to North American audiences through two distinctive streaming brands:
Brit Box and BBC Select.

Brit Box, the ultimate streaming destination for British TV. We offer an unparalleled collection of thoughtfully curated entertainment—cleverly crafted and full of the charm, wit, and heart that define British storytelling.

Born from the BBC, our mission is to bring authentic British stories to our audiences. Launched in 2017, we are a small but mighty streamer that punches above our weight—available on every major platform and even featured among the bright lights of Times Square—and we’re just getting started.

BBC Select is a documentary streaming service that has been successfully operating since February 2021. It has established itself as the third-largest documentary streaming service in the US. With plans to expand through original commissions, territorial premieres, and new distribution platforms, BBC Select continues to serve a highly engaged audience that values educational, high-quality content. The integration of BBC Select into the DTC organization presents a strong opportunity to leverage shared capabilities, insights, and expertise to accelerate growth and enhance overall customer experience.

If you’re passionate about entertainment, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to play a meaningful role in our growth journey, this is your opportunity to be part of a dynamic Direct-to-Consumer business within BBC Studios, bringing the very best of British TV to fans everywhere.

Job Purpose

The Team Assistant provides administrative, operational and coordination support to the SVP of Publicity & Communications and the wider North America Communications & Publicity team.

This role supports a broad cross‑business communications function across both the DTC side of the business, including communications, publicity, talent relations, Brit Box and BBC Select, and the BBC Studios side of the business, including Commercial News, ad sales communications and internal communications.

The Team Assistant helps keep a busy, fast-moving and externally facing department running smoothly. The role requires strong organization, good judgment, attention to detail and the ability to manage scheduling, logistics, financial administration, team coordination and day‑to-day operational needs. This is a foundational support role that creates leverage across the team and allows senior leaders and managers to stay focused on strategic, creative and delivery‑critical work.

The role will be expected to use available technology, internal systems and AI‑enabled tools where appropriate to streamline routine administrative work. The focus, however, remains on the human elements of the role: judgment, prioritization, relationship management, follow‑through and keeping the team organized and moving.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, resourceful, personable and highly organized, with a strong interest in media, entertainment, communications and television. This is a strong opportunity for an early‑career candidate looking to build a foundation in communications, publicity, events and talent relations over the next few years.
