Automotive Technician Position

First Automotive is looking for a high-level Automotive Technician to join our Liverpool repair facility. This is not an entry-level or maintenance-only position. We need an experienced technician who can independently diagnose difficult problems, perform quality repairs, and help keep vehicles moving efficiently through the shop.

Our compensation plan is a hybrid—not traditional flat rate. You receive a guaranteed weekly salary, plus additional compensation based on production. This provides the stability of guaranteed pay with the opportunity to earn more when you produce more.

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.
• Perform general maintenance and a wide range of automotive repairs.
• Complete accurate digital vehicle inspections with clear pictures and detailed notes.
• Communicate findings, repair needs, and parts requirements to the service advisor.
• Complete authorized repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Test-drive and recheck vehicles to verify repairs and resolve customer concerns.
• Properly document all work performed and recommendations identified.
• Accurately clock in and out of assigned jobs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Take responsibility for repair quality and help prevent unnecessary comebacks.

• Significant professional automotive repair experience is required.
• Strong diagnostic, electrical, mechanical, and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to independently handle difficult repairs and diagnostic concerns.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Comfortable using scan tools, service information, and digital inspection software.
• Able to communicate technical findings clearly to service advisors and management.
• ASE certifications are strongly preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Dependable, productive, team-oriented, and able to work the full scheduled hours.
