We are seeking a Lead Automotive Technician / Shop Foreman in Holmes, NY for a busy, established independent automotive repair facility. This hands-on leadership role combines advanced diagnostics and heavy mechanical repair with quality control, technician coaching, and day-to-day shop support. The position offers $70,000-$100,000 in annual earning potential through a hybrid pay plan, along with weekly pay and benefits.
Key Responsibilities- Perform advanced automotive diagnostics and heavy mechanical repairs on all makes and models.
- Manage vehicles from initial diagnosis through completed repair, maintaining quality and productivity throughout the process.
- Assist technicians with difficult diagnostic and mechanical repair concerns.
- Train, coach, and mentor automotive technicians while supporting a positive, accountable team environment.
- Perform quality-control checks to help ensure repairs meet shop standards.
- Complete Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI) and document repair findings using Tekmetric.
- Prepare labor estimates based on diagnosed repair needs.
- Remain hands-on in the bays while helping maintain an organized, productive repair environment.
- Significant professional automotive repair and diagnostic experience.
- Demonstrated advanced automotive diagnostic and heavy mechanical repair abilities.
- Experience training, coaching, mentoring, or leading automotive technicians.
- Ability to diagnose and repair vehicles across a variety of makes and models.
- Strong communication and organizational skills for coordinating repairs and supporting technicians.
- Demonstrated reliability, follow-through, productivity, and quality workmanship.
- Independent automotive repair shop experience preferred.
- Annual earning potential of $70,000-$100,000.
