Job SummaryThe Automotive Parts Counter representative will be responsible for assisting customers and service technicians in identifying and sourcing the correct automotive parts. This role requires strong product knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
Job Responsibilities- Assist customers and service department personnel in selecting the correct parts for their vehicles.
- Process parts orders, including looking up parts in electronic catalogs and inventory systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock checks.
- Receive, unpack, and store incoming parts shipments.
- Handle customer inquiries regarding part availability, pricing, and technical specifications.
- Process returns and exchanges in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain a clean and organized parts department.
- Collaborate with the service department to ensure timely delivery of parts for repairs.
- Stay up-to-date with new product releases and industry trends.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some post‑secondary education in automotive technology or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in automotive parts sales or service.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, systems, and their functions.
- Proficiency in using electronic parts catalogs and inventory management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
