The Assistant Inventory Planner is responsible for bottom-up sales analysis and omni channel product allocations that ensure stock availability meets customer demand. Alongside their manager, they will analyze, monitor and report on key performance indicators by channel/location/account. They execute allocation strategies, target optimal in-stock rate for our direct customers and wholesale partners and find bottoms up opportunities to drive sales. They will work cross-functionally with Merchandising, Ecommerce, Wholesale, Stores, Logistics and external vendors to meet their goals.
This is a high visibility role which reports to the Director of Planning and Inventory Management.
- Monitor unallocated inventory weekly to determine re-orders and replenishment for Ecom, wholesale and stores based on current trend, historical trend and plan.
- Run weekly reporting to monitor on order expected delivery dates and create pre-allocations that align to trend and plan by location.
- Rectify and report on OOS by location to meet optimal service levels, maximizing profitability.
- Compile data from multiple sources to maintain standard reports and create ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed to support planning initiatives.
- Perform weekly and monthly reporting of location level business and alongside manager communicate results and forecasts to cross functional team on a regular basis.
- Identify risks and opportunities by product, class, and location and make recommendations on stock needs including proposing wholesale accounts’ re-orders and replenishment buys for ecom and stores to meet demand.
- Prepare bottom-up hindsight analysis for leadership review and collaborate with Director at key fiscal points like Business Review and Investment Reviews
- Support the development of pre-season plans and analyze in-season performance to improve forecast accuracy.
- Develop deep understanding of company systems and processes.
- Maintain assortment matrix and update as needed to ensure accurate allocations per merchandising vision.

- Is a self-starter who is comfortable making suggestions while also being a team-player who is happy to implement day-to-day tactical needs.
- Comfortable working with raw data and finding the story behind the numbers.
- Experience with Netsuite or a similar ERP System is a plus but not required.
- Excel skills and retail math skills.
- Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple, competing priorities to achieve goals and deliverables under tight deadlines.
