Market Intelligence Analysts in private capital support investment, fundraising, and business development teams by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing market, investor, and competitor intelligence. The role combines research, data analysis, and strategic insights to inform investment decisions, fundraising strategies, and market positioning.
These roles involve collaboration with portfolio managers, investor relations teams, business development professionals, and senior leadership to provide actionable intelligence that drives strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and analysis on private capital markets, including funds, investors, and portfolio companies
- Monitor industry trends, fundraising activity, and competitor strategies to inform investment and business development decisions
- Build and maintain dashboards, databases, and analytical models to track market activity and opportunities
- Prepare reports, presentations, and insights for internal teams and senior leadership
- Identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities in fundraising, deal flow, and market positioning
- Support investor targeting, segmentation, and outreach strategies
- Assist in ad-hoc projects, competitive benchmarking, and market intelligence initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Statistics, or a related field
- Strong analytical and research skills, with attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex information
- Understanding of private capital markets, investment strategies, and fund structures
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with SQL, Python, or data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for research reports and presentations
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Interest in private markets, fundraising, investor relations, and strategic intelligence
