We are seeking a driven and entrepreneurial Capital Markets Sales Lead to identify, pursue, and win new institutional client relationships. In this role, you will be responsible for originating new business, building the firm's client footprint.
What you'll do- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close, focusing on institutional investors and technology executives
- Build and nurture long‑term relationships with C‑suite leaders, fund managers, and influential entrepreneurs
- Understand client needs and position Cobalt's community, insights, and research offerings to deliver measurable value
- Exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets through strategic account management and new business development
- Collaborate with product and research teams to ensure client feedback shapes our offerings
- Represent Cobalt at industry events, conferences, and networking functions in San Francisco and beyond
- Extensive experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development, preferably in technology, financial services, or professional networks
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and managing complex sales cycles
- Strong existing network within the venture capital, private equity, or technology executive community
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage C‑level executives
- Self‑motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
- Deep curiosity about emerging technologies and the ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts
