Opportunity Summary

The Planner/Warehouse Tech is central to the management of warehouse operations and inventory control at a turbine facility. This role involves reviewing quotes, initiating purchase requisitions, managing vendor and parts data, and maintaining inventory using CMMS software. The Planner/Warehouse Tech plays a role in maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating orders, ensuring timely deliveries, and optimizing procurement processes. Additionally, this position provides maintenance planning and supply support to maintenance personnel, with attention to materials and equipment specific to power plant operations.

Core

Responsibilities Warehouse Operations
  • Support oversight of all warehouse functions, including receiving, storage, organization, and distribution of spare parts, consumables, turbine components, chemicals, safety gear, and power plant materials to sustain continuous operations.
  • Maintain inventory tracking systems by conducting regular cycle counts and performing full physical inventories to ensure accuracy and prevent shortages or overstock conditions.
  • Improve warehouse layout, storage methods, and material-handling practices to enhance space efficiency and accessibility of critical assets, including gas and steam turbine components, pumps, motors, low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical equipment, valves, actuators, and sensitive control equipment.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics by working with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely receipt and distribution of materials.
  • Drive ongoing process improvements aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing downtime, and strengthening readiness for both scheduled and emergency maintenance activities.
  • Safely operate material-handling equipment—including forklifts, telehandlers, golf carts, pickup trucks, and vans—in compliance with site policies and safety requirements.
  • Contribute to additional routine and non-routine tasks and special projects as assigned.
CMMS Utilization, Maintenance Support & Compliance
  • Develop proficiency in using the CMMS to manage procurement workflows—including requisitions, purchase orders, vendor management, receipts, and invoices—while maintaining accurate data for inventory, assets, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize CMMS configurations and support system upgrades that enhance supply chain performance and operational efficiency.
  • Provide direct support to Maintenance by delivering tools, parts, and materials for planned and emergency work, assisting with light tasks, and preparing parts kits as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of critical spare parts and consumables to support power plant equipment reliability.
  • Participate in audits, surveys, and data requests related to inventory control, procurement activities, and supply chain processes.
  • Ensure warehouse operations comply with established policies, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols, with particular emphasis on the handling of hazardous and critical materials.
