Overview

When someone joins the Corporate Development team, they accelerate their career by driving all phases of strategic acquisitions and investments at Chase.

As a Vice President on the Corporate Development team, you will be a member of a high-impact team responsible for accelerating and transforming Chase's business. You will support Chase’s strategic initiatives by identifying, evaluating and executing new transactions. This is a highly-visible position; you will work closely with our business leaders and cross-functional partners in Product, Operations, and Technology as well as various Legal, Risk, Control and Compliance teams.

In this role, you will report to the M&A lead for Chase Corporate Development.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assess strategic opportunities and recommend plans and strategies, including risks, to senior management for new business growth.
  • Prepare and deliver evaluation materials and status reports.
  • Stay informed on new technologies and trends, and advise stakeholders on market intelligence and potential targets.
  • Build a strong team culture while mentoring and managing associates.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Business acumen and direct experience managing complex initiatives, complemented by proven project management skills to drive time-sensitive processes, a highly motivated work ethic, and deep curiosity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills, and experience presenting board-level materials.
  • Knowledge of M&A tools and databases (e.g., Pitchbook, Crunchbase, and CapIQ).
  • Experience delivering valuations using methods such as DCF, trading comparables and precedent transactions.
  • Ability to read and understand legal documents.
  • Sound judgment to work independently and escalate issues when needed.
  • Strong credibility and ability to speak directly, including when offering a dissenting view.
  • Commitment to teamwork and experience mentoring associates.
  • Interest and experience in using AI tools to enhance their research and analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in a field that shows a structured and organized approach to work.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Experience in investment banking, corporate M&A, business development, strategy/financial consulting, private equity, and/or venture capital.
  • Track record of driving transactions and supporting growth through M&A, joint ventures, or investments.
