The Early-Stage Investment Analyst supports venture investment teams by sourcing, evaluating, and analyzing early-stage startups. This role emphasizes founder assessment, market discovery, and thesis-driven research in environments where data may be limited and qualitative judgment is critical.
Analysts work closely with partners, founders, and operators to identify promising companies at the earliest stages of formation and growth, gaining hands‑on exposure to venture decision‑making, startup dynamics, and ecosystem development

- Identify and source pre‑seed and seed‑stage startups through networks, events, accelerators, and inbound opportunities
- Conduct introductory conversations with founders and prepare early‑stage investment summaries
- Support due diligence for early‑stage companies, including:
- Founder and team assessment
- Problem‑solution fit and product vision evaluation
- Market size, customer pain points, and adoption potential
- Competitive landscape and differentiation analysis
- Early traction signals and operating metrics
- Build lightweight financial models and scenario analyses appropriate for early‑stage businesses
- Assist with market mapping, sector research, and early‑stage investment thesis development
- Track portfolio company milestones and assist with qualitative and quantitative reporting
- Support investment committee preparation and internal decision‑making processes
- Assist with fundraising materials, LP communications, and portfolio updates
- Stay current on startup trends, emerging technologies, and early‑stage venture ecosystems
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, data, or another analytical or technical discipline
- Strong interest in startups, entrepreneurship, and early‑stage venture investing
- Prior experience in startups, venture capital, consulting, investment banking, accelerators, product roles, or relevant internships is a plus
- Strong analytical and research skills with comfort operating in ambiguous, data‑light environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High curiosity, initiative, and comfort engaging directly with founders
- Ability to balance structured analysis with qualitative judgment
- Tools for navigating early‑stage VC recruiting and sourcing strategies
- Resume and profile guidance tailored to venture and startup‑facing roles
- Practice materials for founder evaluation, market discovery, and thesis development
