Role OverviewThe Junior Venture Capital Analyst supports investment professionals across deal sourcing, early-stage diligence, and portfolio monitoring
, while developing core venture investing skills. This role sits just below or alongside full Analyst positions and is ideal for candidates with some prior exposure to finance, startups, or investing who are looking to deepen their experience in venture capital.
Junior Analysts work closely with associates, partners, and founders and gain increasing responsibility over time.
Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and research early-stage startups aligned with the fund’s investment themes
Support outbound and inbound deal sourcing efforts and maintain pipeline tracking
Conduct preliminary evaluations of founders, products, markets, and traction
Assist with due diligence, including competitive analysis and business model assessment
Build and update basic financial models and capitalization tables
Help draft investment summaries, memos, and internal briefing materials
Track portfolio company performance metrics and support reporting initiatives
Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and startup ecosystems
Participate in demo days, pitch events, and venture networking activities
Assist with LP communications, fundraising materials, and internal data organization
Ideal Candidate ProfileBachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, computer science, or a related analytical field
Demonstrated interest in startups, venture capital, or early-stage investing
0–2 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, startups, venture capital, private equity, or strategy roles preferred
Strong analytical skills with comfort in Excel, research, and presentations
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Highly curious, proactive, and eager to learn
Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and engaging with founders
