Role Overview

New York Life Group Benefit Solutions (GBS) is reimagining how we work, and we’re excited to announce a new role within our Group Transformation Office (GTO) – the Value Lead. This role will be pivotal in driving measurable business outcomes and ensuring that AI initiatives deliver tangible value across the enterprise. Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for delivering measurable impact? New York Life GBS is seeking a dynamic individual to lead the Portfolio & Value Orchestration pillar of our GTO. You’ll ensure that every initiative aligns with business priorities and delivers quantifiable outcomes.

What You’ll Do
  • Design and own the value realization framework for AI- and agentic-led initiatives across GBS, including clear baselines, target outcomes, payback timing, and ongoing economics.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to define a tight set of KPIs and success metrics that connect AI adoption, digital worker utilization, experience improvements, and financial impact (revenue, cost, risk).
  • Develop and maintain the integrated transformation portfolio, ensuring every initiative is explicitly tied to strategic objectives, value hypotheses, and capacity constraints.
  • Facilitate prioritization and rebalancing of initiatives using a transparent value / feasibility / readiness lens, driving decisions through Steer Co and GTO governance forums.
  • Shape funding and incentive mechanisms (e.g., value-backed funding, stage gates, and performance measures) so leaders and teams are rewarded for delivering measurable value, not just activity.
  • Provide executive-ready insights and reporting on portfolio health – progress against milestones, realized and forecast benefits, risks, interdependencies, and course-correction recommendations.
  • Continuously refine the value story, using data and feedback to update business cases, inform future waves of AI investment, and articulate the impact of GBS Reimagine to the broader enterprise.
  • Ensure all initiatives within the portfolio explicitly align to enterprise business strategy and key corporate metrics, reinforcing GBS’s contribution to broader strategic outcomes.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in portfolio management, value realization, or business transformation; 10+ years of overall experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, KPI development, and benefits tracking.
  • Familiarity with AI adoption and digital transformation programs is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Location & Work Model

Hybrid setup with flexibility to remotely with occasional travel to New York, Philadelphia, or other key collaboration locations.

Pay Transparency

Salary range: $119,000 - $170,000 (New York City, Philadelphia) // $119,000 - $150,000 (Chattanooga, Iowa)

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
