This team partners closely with IBM’s business units and corporate leadership to identify opportunities, evaluate potential deals, and drive execution with precision and insight. Your role and responsibilities

As an Associate on IBM's Corporate Development team, you will support senior associates and experienced deal professionals in executing high-impact transactions across acquisitions, divestitures, and minority investments. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate acquisition targets, investment returns, and deal structuring scenarios
  • Support due diligence processes by coordinating across legal, finance, tax, and business unit teams to surface key risks and insights
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and investment memos for IBM's senior leadership and board
  • Conduct industry and competitive research to identify and assess potential targets aligned with IBM's strategic priorities
  • Track and manage deal timelines, work streams, and deliverables to ensure execution stays on schedule
  • Support post-close integration planning and monitoring of deal performance against projected outcomes
Required technical and professional expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related technical field
  • 1 year or less of experience in investment banking
  • Strong communication skills
  • Expertise in financial modeling and forecasting with strong attention to detail
  • Expert-level proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
