Event Manager / Planner
Concierge are responsible for answering questions, giving direction, and making detailed reservations or recommendations. This position requires knowledge of hotel services, local events, venues, and transportation options, and offers the opportunity to engage in casual conversation and handle special requests.
Job Functions- Provide accurate and timely information on New York City (location, directions, and local attractions).
- Make and confirm travel arrangements for guests, including buses, rail, airline, limousine, etc.
- Respond to guest requests for special arrangements or services.
- Review logs to confirm that arrangements are executed.
- Provide information on entertainment such as ticket availability for theater or sporting events, seating layouts, procurement procedures, and purchases for guests as necessary.
- Offer accurate advice on shopping for clothing, jewelry, appliances, books, records, musical instruments, collectibles, etc.
- Arrange secretarial personnel, interpreters, guides, messengers, sitters, nannies, etc., for guests when requested.
- Rent cars, typewriters, furniture, office space, formal clothing, wheelchairs, health-related items, strollers, etc., for hotel guests.
- Act as liaison between guests and other in‑house services or outside venues and services.
- Provide information about NYC institutions (consulates, financial institutions), cultural institutions, attractions, and other venues.
- Interact with bellman, front desk, mail desk, and doorman to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Familiarity with NYC transit (subway, bus, taxi, directions, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• One‑year hotel concierge experience in a NYC property
• Prior experience in a luxury/lifestyle property
• Hospitality degree
• Knowledge of Opera or MS Shift
Skills and Abilities

- Knowledge of modes of transportation, rates, accommodations, and availability, and of social and cultural events regularly available in New York City.
- Knowledge of local stores, restaurants, and general services.
- Familiarity with art, travel, and languages.
- Good knowledge of NYC public transportation.
- Awareness of new art shows and events in the city.
- Capable of working closely within a group, supporting team members, and following up on group tasks.
- Also able to work independently without supervision.
- Capable of working under pressure, meeting deadlines, and providing prompt service.

$33.86 to $40.31 per hour
