DescriptionWe are seeking a Shopper Marketing Director (12+ years’ experience) to drive account growth, unlock commercial opportunities, and build senior-level client partnerships. This is not a delivery-only account leadership role. It is a strategic commercial position responsible for:
- Growing revenue within existing accounts
- Unlocking new business opportunities
- Elevating client partnerships to executive level
- Turning shopper strategy into sustainable business growth
You will operate as a senior advisor to clients — connecting brand ambition to retail performance — while owning the financial health and expansion of your portfolio.
Purpose of the role Growth & Business Development- Identify and convert organic growth opportunities across client portfolios.
- Develop annual growth roadmaps tied to shopper and activation strategies.
- Lead new business pitches and prospect development.
- Build multi-year partnership strategies with key accounts.
- Contribute to pipeline forecasting and revenue planning.
- Own executive-level relationships (VP Marketing, CMO, Shopper Leads).
- Influence client investment decisions toward activation and retail growth.
- Lead high-stakes commercial conversations confidently.
- Position the agency as a long-term growth partner.
- Guide development of shopper frameworks and activation roadmaps.
- Elevate client briefs into broader, revenue-driving programs.
- Connect retail insights, performance data, and category dynamics to strategic recommendations.
- Ensure programs align to measurable KPIs and sales impact.
- Accountable for revenue, margin, scope control, and profitability.
- Protect commercial discipline across projects.
- Drive pricing strategy and contract negotiations where required.
- Ensure delivery excellence without compromising margin.
- Align creative, strategy, and production around growth priorities.
- Create a culture of proactive opportunity spotting.
- Mentor senior account teams toward strategic and commercial maturity.
- Build confidence and clarity across cross-functional teams.
12+ years’ experience in shopper marketing, retail activation, or below-the-line agency environments.
- Proven Director or Senior Account Director experience.
- Demonstrated track record of growing accounts year-on-year.
- Strong FMCG and retail client background.
- Experience influencing executive-level stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of retail ecosystems and shopper conversion strategy.
- Experience contributing to agency new business wins.
Understands agency economics, margin protection, pricing strategy, and revenue expansion.
