Data Analyst
Location: New York
Amtrak seeks a Senior Workforce Analytics Analyst to support workforce planning and strategy for the Capital Delivery Department. The candidate will develop reporting, modeling, and analysis to inform staffing decisions and meet service level targets.
Job SummaryResponsibilities include collecting and reviewing workforce data, building databases, and creating staffing models to support Amtrak’s strategic business plan.
Essential Functions- Ensure all required Work Planning data is tracked and trended.
- Recommend processes and strategies to meet staffing needs.
- Identify resources to improve workforce analytics.
- Create and validate ongoing staffing models.
- Develop reporting to compare resource requirements with available resources.
- Adjust forecast models based on actual results and real‑time activity.
- Manage data analysis and deliverables, ensuring timely completion.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent training, education, and experience).
- Basic understanding of Amtrak multi‑discipline labor agreements and practices.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience.
- Five or more years of relevant experience.
- Prior transportation planning experience.
- Strong database development skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel and Project.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Critical thinking in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to interact with employees at all organizational levels.
- Office setting.
- Travel up to 10%.
The base salary range is $78,600–$101,844, commensurate with qualifications.
