Business Analyst (HRP)
1 Day onsite per week - NYC, NY
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 p/hr
Our client, a large health and human services organization, is undertaking a major claims system replacement on the health plan side of the business, transitioning from Facets to Health Edge Health Rules Payer (HRP). As part of this initiative, the internal reporting team needs support translating business needs into formal reporting requirements. We are seeking an experienced, functional Business Analyst to partner with Product, Business Stakeholders, the Reporting team, and the Data & Analytics Services (DAS) group to gather, document, and finalize reporting requirements that will guide development and testing on the new platform.
This is a fast‑moving, high‑visibility engagement expected to run through the remainder of the year, with potential for conversion to a permanent role for the right candidate.
- Partner with Product, Business, Reporting, and DAS stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business and reporting requirements for the Health Rules Payer (HRP) implementation
- Lead and facilitate requirements‑gathering sessions with cross‑functional teams, translating discussions into clear, structured documentation
- Analyze current‑state reporting processes built on the Facets claims platform and define future‑state requirements for HRP
- Produce business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and reporting requirement artifacts suitable for handoff to development and QA teams
- Work independently to turn loosely defined business needs into well‑organized, actionable documentation
- Collaborate with QA/testing resources to ensure requirements support UAT and data validation efforts
- Manage and track requirements through review, sign‑off, and change control as the project evolves
- Communicate progress, open items, and risks to stakeholders and project leadership
- Proven experience as a functional Business Analyst, with a strong track record of gathering and documenting business and reporting requirements
- Experience working within the health plan / payer space strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Health Edge Health Rules Payer (HRP) and/or Facets claims systems is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with business stakeholders, product teams, and data/reporting groups to define requirements
- Strong written documentation skills, with experience producing BRDs and functional specs
- Comfortable operating independently with minimal ramp‑up time in a fast‑paced project environment
- Ability to work remotely with availability for occasional on‑site collaboration (tri‑state area candidates preferred, once‑per‑week on‑site a plus but not required)
