Job Description
The Aerospace and Defense team currently covers 47 listed companies across subsectors and adjacencies within the aerospace and defense sector including the commercial aircraft OEMs, defense prime contractors, the supply chain, defense services, new space, future air mobility and several others. In addition to publicly traded companies, the team regularly vets private companies for potential IPOs.
We are seeking a candidate who is intellectually curious, has a deep desire to learn, and is interested in Aerospace and Defense and the inner workings of US national security. The role requires experience with financial modeling, quantitative analysis, strong verbal communication, and writing skills.
Responsibilities- Perform complex financial modeling & valuation work.
- Write regular industry and company reports and company launch initiatives from scratch.
- Develop databases integral to our research product.
- Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment.
- Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes.
- Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies.
- Participate and contribute to client meetings and events.
- Attend meetings and interact with key opinion leaders.
- Closely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity, and relay to analyst.
- Seek out new, value‑added, and/or unusual sources of information.
- Leverage our robust network of industry contacts.
- Interact regularly with clients.
- Conduct analysis of financial data, news, and other information to identify opportunities and risks related to companies, industries, or financial instruments.
- Assist in structuring, pricing and executing transactions to assist in developing financing solutions for existing and emerging companies.
- Attend day‑to‑day sales, trading and hedging transaction needs, responding to client inquiries, logs and records data.
- Lead and/or support the preparation of associated financial models and written reports, which can be complex and quantitative in nature.
- Manage resources, coordinate assignments and prioritize team workload.
- Organize workflow and keep the machine running day to day.
- Train and develop skills, provide career coaching and mentoring.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, hard sciences, or engineering (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in investment banking and/or research (equity or credit, sell-side or buy-side).
- Prior experience in aerospace and defense or related experience preferred.
- Strong background in accounting and finance, or mathematics or engineering.
- Expertise in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Strong writing and spreadsheet skills.
- Passion for following the stock market.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multi‑task, and strong work ethic.
- Must enjoy working in industry databases and websites, and supporting desktop and field research.
- Understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics.

Pay range: $ – $ annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set. Discretionary incentive eligible. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary plan based on overall individual performance.
