Chief of Staff - Senior Manager

About the Role

MongoDB Technical Services supports our customers’ development, deployment, and ongoing operations of mission‑critical application data infrastructure, ensuring they get the most out of their investment in MongoDB.

As our Technical Services organization evolves, we are looking for a Chief of Staff to play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, planning and execution frameworks, and operational excellence. You will work closely with the EVP of Technical Services, their global leadership team, and leaders across all functions both internal and external to Technical Services. In short, you’ll be the strategic right hand—ensuring the entire technical services ecosystem moves with clarity, purpose, and speed.

The position is open to candidates based in New York City or Palo Alto for a hybrid working mode and reports to the EVP of Technical Services.

• Trusted Advisor and Strategic Initiative Leadership: Assist the EVP and senior leadership in defining and driving strategic initiatives aligned with company goals and technology roadmaps; ensure key updates flow effectively between Technical Services, Product Technology, and Go‑To‑Market teams; establish and scale planning and execution frameworks that translate priorities into operating plans; act as a trusted advisor and sounding board for new ideas;
  
  represent the EVP in cross‑functional initiatives; ensure clear, consolidated reporting of program status; develop executive‑ready presentations and narratives for senior leadership; build executive‑ready messaging for stakeholders.
• Operational Excellence: Integrate with Technical Services leadership on ever‑changing priorities, strategic planning, and transformation; ensure cross‑functional communication alignment; own program management for critical cross‑functional initiatives, tracking milestones and driving accountability; identify process inefficiencies and proactively solve them; run leadership meetings (e.g., QBRs) with clear agendas and follow‑ups; craft internal strategic updates, briefings, and talking points for the VP; lead change management projects, including organizational evolution, enabling, and communication.

• 7+ years of enterprise software services delivery leadership, business operations for an enterprise software company, or technology sector‑focused management consulting experience.
• 4‑year university degree; an MBA is preferred.
• Strong executive presence and the confidence to challenge the status quo; exceptional written and verbal communication skills for C‑suite deliverables.
• Experience leading or partnering with international teams and navigating new employment markets.
• Proven ability to operate successfully in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments; ability to map complex cross‑functional dependencies independently and align diverse teams.
• Builder mentality: thrive in environments where you architect the playbook, identify bottlenecks, and optimize processes.
• Demonstrated ability to guide teams through organizational evolution and change, maintaining high performance during transition.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is $101,000 – $198,000 USD. Other benefits for eligible employees may include equity, the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully‑paid gender‑neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, a 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, and access to transgender‑inclusive health insurance coverage.
