RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an AI Engineer in New York, NY.

Overview:
The AI Engineer is responsible to create and ship the agents, automations, and platform that drive efficiency into the client's operations. You will own delivery, quality, and the economics of your pod, and you manage and grow the team in it. You will be playing the role of a technical lead. This track combines agent build, intelligent automation, and the paved-road/Dev Ops platform under one leader - everything required to turn a problem into a deployed, reliable solution.

Dev Ops is integrated here as the platform that makes the build pod fast, not as a separate function.

Key Responsibilities:

* Own delivery across multiple build work streams: scope, estimate, sequence, and ship

* Be accountable for delivery quality, timelines, and utilization/margin on your pod

* Own the build roadmap with client stakeholders; shape what gets built and in what order

* Make build-vs-buy-vs-automate trade-offs that protect the engagement economics

* Own the paved road - golden-path deployment, CI/CD, secrets, tool-use governance - so builders stay productive

* Set and enforce engineering standards, security, and quality across the pod

* Manage and develop a pod of ~4-8 people;
Coaching, performance, and delivery

* Be a trusted technical partner to client leaders

REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field

* 9+ years in software/automation engineering, with 2+ leading teams or significant technical delivery

* Demonstrated ability to architect agentic/automation solutions and to manage the engineers who build them

* Experience owning delivery commitments in consulting, managed services, or client delivery

* Commercial awareness: estimation, utilization, and scope management

Nice to have:

* Prior managed or professional services experience; pre-sales or proposal contribution

* Deep Service Now or platform/cloud architecture background

Leadership profile:

* Develops people and raises the engineering bar

* Balances delivery, quality, economics, and talent simultaneously

* Owns client technical relationships with credibility

What success looks like (first 6-12 months):

* Your pod ships reliably and predictably, on a healthy margin

* Associates are progressing and the bench is real

* Clients trust your pod to build what matters

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
