The common capabilities team is the foundational engine that accelerates successful development of Capital One’s modern credit card system by enabling data abstraction, data quality, and tooling for our partners to scale state‑of‑the‑art customer billing system.

In this role, you will support the design and delivery of a modern, extensible, and well‑managed product. You will succeed if you are able to apply systems thinking to understand the platform, business, and broader technical architecture holistically, and partner with Engineering to drive the full development lifecycle. Your work will deliver foundational capabilities that power updated card processing platforms across Capital One.

In this role, you’ll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in five key areas which we consider to be the foundation for successful Product Management:

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field), Business or Marketing.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in any field and 3 years of Product Management experience.

• Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer‑facing digital products.

The minimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part‑time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $164,800 – $188,100 for Manager, Product Management

New York, NY: $179,700 – $205,100 for Manager, Product Management

Richmond, VA: $149,800 – $171,000 for Manager, Product Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non‑discretionary depending on the plan.
