Role Purpose
Direct the design, delivery, and evolution of shared platform services that underpin TD Securities’ digital Treasury solutions. Lead the roadmap for a defined capability cluster (e.g., client identity, onboarding, analytics, or payment orchestration), translating business and regulatory needs into reusable, API‑first services. The role is pivotal in a multi‑year transformation, collaborating with technology, product, risk, compliance, and operations stakeholders.
What You Will Own- Platform capability roadmap: define strategy, sequencing, and milestones for a cluster of shared services.
- Requirements and service design: translate business needs into clean, reusable definitions, API contracts, data schemas, and interface standards for Journey teams.
- Cross‑functional delivery: drive alignment across product, technology, operations, risk, and compliance to keep builds on track and manage upstream dependencies.
- Platform quality and standards: enforce architectural principles of composable, API‑first, well‑documented, observable services.
- Journey team partnership: serve as the interface for Product Journey teams, manage intake of new requirements, communicate trade‑offs, and ensure service contracts meet needs.
- Stakeholder communication: represent the capability roadmap to senior leaders, communicate risks, trade‑offs, and sequencing decisions with clarity and urgency.
The Platform Capabilities team works within a shared accountability model alongside Journey Product teams. Directors define reusable services;
Journey teams consume these for client-facing experiences. Responsibilities include maintaining reusability standards while meeting Journey teams’ delivery timelines, navigating the tension between "build it once, right" and "deliver for this journey, now".
- Year‑one delivery of core platform services within your cluster, with architecture defined and contracts published.
- At least one Journey team actively consuming services end‑to‑end, with a clear feedback loop for evolving requirements.
- Documented, agreed, and operating dependency interfaces with adjacent clusters—no unmanaged gaps.
- Embedded platform standards in way‑of‑working: API‑first design, documented schemas, observable services, reusable patterns consistently applied.
- A credible, sequenced roadmap with risks and constraints surfaced proactively.
- 8–12 years of product management experience, preferably spanning financial services and digital platform infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ownership of shared platform capabilities in a multi‑product, API‑first environment.
- Technical acumen to partner with engineering teams: fluent in API design, data modeling, event‑driven architecture.
- Strong cross‑functional influence skills; ability to lead across product, technology, risk, compliance, and operations without direct authority.
- Experience operating effectively in a transformation context: navigate ambiguity, manage complex dependencies, communicate trade‑offs to senior stakeholders.
- Transaction banking background (treasury, cash, or commercial banking) is a strong plus.
- Deep knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Client identity, access, and data services – CIAM/IAM patterns, KYC/KYB flows, entitlement governance, or client‑product catalog management.
- Onboarding and activation workflows – design or ownership of workflows that move clients from entitlement to active product use.
- Client intelligence, reporting, and engagement – financial data reporting platforms, statement generation, event‑driven alerts.
- Payment and orchestration services – payment initiation/configuration, rail knowledge (ACH, SWIFT, ISO
20022, RTP/Fed Now), or workflow orchestration/product ownership.
