Position:
Employee Recognition and Events Specialist
. The successful candidate coordinates and executes NYU Langone Health's employee recognition programs and events, with ownership of Long Island recognition events and leadership for milestone celebrations, family events, and blood drives. The role supports the Employee Awards Program and the Awardco recognition platform, manages event logistics, budgeting, vendor relationships, and communications, and collaborates with the Recognition Manager and leadership team.
- Develop and coordinate Family Fun Events aligned with senior leadership objectives across campuses/locations.
- Compile and maintain Qualtrics surveys, recognition program data, metrics, and scorecards to assess effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
- Draft, create and distribute event communications through internal messaging channels.
- Monitor the employee appreciation mailbox in Salesforce, provide timely responses, and update FAQs as needed.
- Plan and oversee the Long Island Service Awards Dinner and support service awards events across campuses.
- Coordinate all event vendors (venue, DJ, florist, photographer, photo booth, transportation, name tag production).
- Manage event contracts and ensure fulfillment and timely invoicing.
- Prepare recognition budgets and documentation for all events.
- Maintain and update the Recognition Platform with event photos, monitor posts, manage GIFs, and run reports/analytics.
- Lead and coordinate the Adopt-a-Family program for the Long Island campus.
- Organize and schedule Blood Drives, track employee participation, and recognize qualifying donors (including days off after multiple donations).
- Support the rollout of Employee Appreciation Month and annual gift programs.
- Source, develop, and maintain vendor relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, and ensure successful event execution.
- Partner with HR, Supply Chain, Communications, MCIT, and other stakeholders to plan and execute recognition initiatives.
- Assist with maintaining the annual recognition and appreciation event calendar and coordinating dates, deadlines, logistics, and senior leader participation.
- Participate in Social Spaces monthly road shows across campuses.
- Support the Recognition Manager with day-to-day operations, special projects, meeting planning, and follow-up items.
- Communicate effectively with senior executives and organizational leaders in both formal meetings and event settings.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in Human Resources, recognition, or events-related role.
- Experience with recognition platforms (e.g., Awardco) or event vendor/contract management.

Salary information: NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with applicable laws. The range for this role is $70,000.00 - $ annually, with actual salaries depending on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. This range does not include bonuses or other forms of compensation or benefits.
