Office Administrator/ Coordinator
We are seeking reliable and committed volunteers available for a weekly 3.5‑hour shift at our Rockefeller Outpatient Pavilion. Volunteers will support the chemo infusion area, the waiting rooms, and lobby spaces, providing navigation support to patients and visitors.
Volunteer Responsibilities- Offer a warm welcome by greeting patients, families, and visitors when they arrive.
- Help with way finding by walking visitors to their destinations or answering general questions.
- Provide comfort in the chemo infusion area by offering non‑clinical support such as blankets, refreshments, or a friendly presence.
- Round the infusion floor with an activity cart to provide patients and caregivers with a creative outlet during their time on site.
- Support patients and staff in waiting areas by assisting with wheelchair retrieval, escorting patients to appointments, or checking in to see where help is needed.
- Assist staff in organizing supplies or restocking resource areas.
- Age 16 or older.
- Able to commit to the same weekly 3.5‑hour shift for at least 6 months.
- If a former or current MSK patient, must be out of active treatment for at least one year.
- Friendly and comfortable engaging with patients, families, and staff.
- Reliable and proactive.
- Must be flexible and willing to support areas based on daily needs, as directed by the Volunteer Supervisor.
- Virtual interview (scheduling dependent).
- 2–3 reference checks.
- Background check & drug screen (18+ only).
- Medical clearance (flu and other immunizations required; at applicant’s expense).
- Onboarding must be completed within 4–6 weeks; pending tasks for 30+ days may result in rejection.
This is an unpaid volunteer role.
