About the Role

This position sits within the Business & Market Development team, focused on market research and commercial strategy. Key responsibilities include policy and market analysis, project due diligence, and financial modeling. The ideal candidate picks things up quickly, is comfortable switching between different subject areas, and takes initiative independently.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct market and policy research to inform MEI’s commercial strategy.
  • Evaluate new and emerging markets.
  • Provide analytical support throughout the clean energy asset valuation process.
  • Uphold Madison’s investment framework.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to challenge and refine project inputs.
  • Become a subject matter expert in key markets across multiple technologies, including solar, energy storage, mobility, and other clean energy solutions.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience or interest in market research, clean energy asset valuation, and financial modeling.
  • Desire to learn and advance your commercial understanding and acumen in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of CRMs such as Salesforce and other systems/software.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Multi‑tasker with a strong work ethic.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and a team‑first mentality.
Location & Schedule

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), hybrid internship based in our New York City office. Interns will work four days per week in‑office and one day remotely to maximize in‑person collaboration and exposure to the business. The 10‑week program runs from June 1 through August 7, 2026. Interns will participate in our all‑company offsite on June 24, 2026 as part of their immersive experience.

The office will be closed in observance of Juneteenth (June 19, 2026) and Independence Day (July 3, 2026).

Commitment & Compensation

This is a paid internship. The hourly pay range for this role is $20–$40. Compensation within this range is determined based on factors including academic level (undergraduate vs. graduate), year in program, and relevant experience.
