The Senior Paymaster will use and exhibit intuitive abilities to understand and apply payroll knowledge. The Senior Paymaster will analyze, verify, and document the relevant issues of a contract and the payroll process. In addition, the Senior Paymaster will have a strong knowledge of union crew, SAG and DGA under distant conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate, audit and input above and below the line payroll in accordance with client, employee, union, state and federal requirements.
  • Process payroll timely, staying in constant communication with the client to be aligned on expectations
  • Establish and maintain complete and accurate files of each production; file project documents electronically in Show Folders
  • Possess knowledge of state, federal and workers compensation statutory requirements.
  • Understand EP policies and procedures.
  • Ability to seek assistance where required; elevate potential “issues” to appropriate manager
  • Change voicemail daily, out of office weekends/as needed
  • Employee accountability – i.e. no “negative” talk; accuracy, turnaround, client service, etc.
  • Attend training classes, gain basic knowledge of entertainment contracts, utilize Halogen Training Modules, , etc. on a regular basis to gain/reinforce knowledge of payroll contracts and EP policies
  • Provide employee earnings and analysis, run Project Queries, run BIT (as applicable) and other reports
  • Contact clients when shows assigned/reassigned (both existing and new manager)
  • Ensure all hand off instructions are clear to the designated backup on the team; always communicate backup information to the client
  • Initiate client contact and communicate coverage for the day
  • Keep project info in Sales Force up-to-date to include payroll schedule and projected timecards, etc.
  • Ensure weekly adjustments completed by end of week, otherwise elevate to manager; review/validate completed adjustments and communicate to client
  • When available, help the team/COE wherever needed; check team emails for coverage
  • Ensure compliance with document retention and processes (I-9s, etc.)
  • Submit HTG rules as needed to Ask Contracts
Job Requirements / Qualifications Needed
  • Minimum (4) four years industry payroll experience
  • Key a minimum of 40 wpm
  • Proficient with 10 key and computer keyboard
  • Must be able to read and interpret contracts
  • Able to self-start and be flexible when required
  • Able to set and meet deadlines
  • Able to multi-task
  • Able to maintain a high level of professionalism with customers and co-workers in high-stress situations
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Reliable in attendance and able to to arrive to work on time on a regular basis
  • Critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning to identify when something is wrong or likely to go wrong
  • Active listening skills by giving full attention to others, taking time to understand points being made and questions asked

The salary range for this position in $60,000 to $75,000 and will be commensurate with experience related to the position.
