Operations Consultant

A high-growth boutique management consulting firm is seeking Operations Consultants to join its expanding North American team. Backed by investment, this business partners with leading global organizations to solve complex operational challenges and deliver measurable business impact.

Unlike traditional strategy consultancies, the firm combines strategic thinking with hands-on implementation, working alongside clients to improve performance across operations, supply chain, procurement, and organizational effectiveness. Consultants are given significant responsibility from day one, leading work streams and building strong client relationships on fast-paced engagements.

The Role

As an Operations Consultant, you will work on a variety of projects focused on improving operational performance and delivering tangible financial results for clients across manufacturing, industrial, consumer, technology, transportation, and other sectors.

Typical engagements include:

• Operational improvement and process optimization initiatives
• Supply chain transformation and logistics improvement
• Manufacturing performance and operational excellence projects
• Strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier negotiations
• Organizational design and operating model transformation
• Cost reduction and value creation programmes
• Commercial and operational due diligence
• Post-merger integration and implementation support

Projects are typically around three months in duration, providing exposure to a broad range of industries and business challenges.

What You'll Do

• Lead analysis to identify operational improvement opportunities and quantify business impact.
• Build financial models and perform quantitative analysis to support strategic recommendations.
• Map and redesign business processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Work directly with client stakeholders to implement operational improvements.
• Facilitate workshops and present findings to senior client leadership.
• Manage project work streams while collaborating with cross-functional consulting teams.
• Support supplier negotiations, sourcing strategies, and cost-saving initiatives where required.
• Develop practical, implementation-focused recommendations with measurable ROI.

About You

We're looking for individuals who combine strong analytical capability with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Experience with in a management consulting environment, ideally focused on operations, supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, or operational transformation.
• Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills with confidence working with financial and operational data.
• An engineering, mathematics, operations, supply chain, or similarly analytical academic background is highly desirable.
• Experience delivering operational improvement or implementation projects rather than large-scale ERP implementations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to build trusted client relationships and thrive in fast-paced project environments.
• A collaborative, curious, and hands-on approach to consulting.
